Hey! Now is the opportunity to sign up for the amazing SPA course which will be occurring on the weekend of the 25th & 26th of September.

Price £110 per person [subsidisation is a possibility but not guaranteed]
Date: 2nd - 3rd October
- For committe members, non-members will be at a later date.

Why? : Single Pitch Award Training is highly useful training if your considering on taking less experienced people out climbing. Naturally it's the precursor to the assessment. And with SPA qualification, its another stepping stone if you want to do any outdoor or group work

Requirement: 15 trad leads outdoors, however if I recall, I think one or two people who did it last year had done fewer than this.

http://www.mlte.org/content.php?nID=57 That's the link to more information on the course.

Due to the numbers, I can only go ahead and book this if I have a confirmed group of 8 people. As such, its the usual, first signed up & paid, first put on the list!

NOTE: The current committee have taken 8 spaces, so another instructor can be arranged if there are a further 8 non-committee people who want to go! :)

If we unfortunatley do not get 8 people, then the course will not go ahead (for the non-committee people)! Sorry, thats just how the numbers are working for this one.

Non-committee people interest:
Andy C
Twigger
Connor
Louise C

Is the club/guild/BMC not subisiding this at all?

For those who are new to what SPA is, it is a very useful course that teachs you whole host of skills relating to climbing all tailored towards either your personnal climbing safety and practice, or group skills. Having had many people teach different ways to do things, this course can take that knowledge and improve it and tell you to forgot those bad habits you've picked up.

Very worthwhile course to go on, and i think everyone who has done the training course before can say exactly the same.

count me in.

I know these figures are only guidelines so far but about how much will the assessment cost?

The assessment will be the same price as the training quoted above. however, the club has been known to subsidise training but not the assessment unfortunately.

You committee people already have the spots! No need to put your names down... this post if for non-committee people! There are at least 5/6 of you who have mentioned interest, so shove your names down and I'll put you on the list! :) :D
