As per tradition, we'll be buying in a keg of beer from the local brewery for the hut that'll be available for dirt cheap. As per our democratic ways, we'll put it down to a vote as to which beer to get. Check here for the details of the beers they have on offer and get voting!

I think my vote has been heavily influenced by the name.

Tasting notes of t' beers

Nessie’s Monster Mash
4.1% ABV
A predominantly malty but well hopped
beer giving a satisfying fullness of flavour
with an enjoyable lasting finish. A glass or
two is a must before seeking an audience
with the monster!

Wildcat
5.1% ABV
A deep amber coloured ale with a complex
malt and fruit flavour, with a delicate
bitterness from Challenger and
Fuggles hops. Strong
and distinctive.

Black Gold
4.4% ABV
A Scottish stout with a wonderful rich dark
colour. A smooth full bodied beer with subtle
bitterness giving way to late sweetness and
underlying roast barley hints.

Stag
4.1% ABV
A mahogany coloured, full bodied ale.
Challenger and Fuggles hops are added
plentifully giving initial bitterness which is
then balanced by a caramel finish from the
roast malts.

Sheepshaggers Gold
4.5% ABV
The best beer baa none!
An exceptional continental style beer with
good body and refreshing aftertaste.
Cairngorm Gold
4.5% ABV
A golden coloured, light bodied continental
style beer. Saaz hops provide an initial fresh
and zesty flavour with Styrian Goldings
providing late aromas.

Trade Winds
4.3% ABV
Light golden in colour, with high proportion
of wheat giving the beer a clean fresh taste.
The mash blends together with the Perle
hops and elderflower providing a bouquet
of fruit and citrus flavours.

The name of the beer is usually my first port of call

I seem to remember Sheepshaggers being rather watery, wild cat was good though

WILD CAT WILD CAT WILD CAT
This is definitely the one to go for, it's actually decent. Trust me, I like my ales.
But don't worry, not too dark/extreme for those of you who aren't so inclined - it's a good happy-medium.

NOT Sheepshaggers which we had on my first trip. Ok it's a "cool" name (is it?) but I vote for choosing a beer based on taste :D

(IMO Black Gold is actually the best one, but I think for group's sake and choosing one that everyone will be happy with, WILD CAT is the ONE)

YEY for Scotland

It looks like we have a winner!

We will be swigging flagons of Wildcat this New Years!
