if your wanting a shoe to wear for a long period of time thats comfy then laces are good but if you want something to take off in between climbs then go with velcro as taking lace ups off every 5 minutes gets really annoying after a while

neither! - SLIP ON ones! :P

Haha, my slip on Styx rock, because they fit right. With a good fit, even velcro's can be worn for long periods of time. I can wear my styx for quite some time and feel little pain.

Problems occur when you've technical shoes, the curvature of them means, no matter what, they're a b.tch to walk around in, even if they fit well.

And statistically, laced shoes are less technical, hence you are more likely to find a lacing system shoe that can be worn for ages.

Comprende?

I've always had velcro and they have always been good, very comfy, easy on and off etc. All you need really. Then again nothing to compare to so maybe I just haven't found the true magic of lace yet. Tricky with chilly fingers though I can imagine.

Lol looking at the results so far, this thread isnt very useful to you! If you've got pretty standard feet size velcro. If ur feet are more awkward then go laces...

lace is good as it provides a tighter fit improving the power you impart though your foot and shoe to the toe on dime edges, also the power you can put though our heel without the shoe popping off
