Anyone interested in seeing what a bouldering competition is really like??

This is a friendly competition between us and Aston, so just for fun and not part of any league. The idea of it is to be a fun and different way to spend a Wednesday afternoon! If you took part in the Warwick friendly last year, it will be the same sort of thing, except that it's in Birmingham, so there's no need to rely on drivers!

Date Wed 27th Feb
Start time 2pm
Cost Normal student entry price - £3.50
Venue The Redpoint Centre (The new climbing centre in Birmingham)
What to bring Climbing shoes, chalk if you have it, money, water and a pen - very useful for scoring!

I will arrange getting there nearer the time and once I know how to get there! I will probably post directions and a meeting point with someone who knows where they are going.

Post here if you'd like to go!

www.redpointclimbingcentre.co.uk

It has the address on the home page. I typed it into google maps, it's near Aston uni. Incidentally it has a preview opening tonight (28th Jan).

Nice work Katie. I'm in. Anyone know the 'official' Redpoint opening date?

There's a sneek preview going on tonight but I can't spot an official date on the website.

The Warwick one last year was really good fun. This will be awesome too. However, one problem last year was that there was no free food. Will there be any this year, and I don't just mean some peanuts and crisps, I mean a full buffet, or even a carvery. Why not ring maltloaf's PALACE and see if they'll cater it, it would be a good platform for us to try and arrange a special long term discount from, like we have with Cotswold.

I like it, will be there. Sam we should tour the food places close to Red point, sometime soon, so we know where to go after climbing

I don't think I can manage that but you can take on the role of food sec if you like Sam.
