I was eating my peanut butter and jam sandwich yesterday when a large chunk of my tooth broke off.

Yeah, it was crunchy peanut butter.

Anyway, it's in the back where you can't really see it, and it doesn't hurt at all. Can I get away with not doing anything about it?

You should probably get that checked out....

Little Claire is a dentistry student and may be more helpful though.

Contrary to popular belief, feed the rat is not always the best source of medical advice.
It has proved itself as a doctor before, but it doesn't have huge status in the dentristry world. Therefore it may be worth getting a 'real life' person to look. A dentist would be an even better idea.

A bit of one of my teeth fell out at the back 6 months ago. Doesn't seem to have done much harm. Might go to the dentist next year though just in case it'll eventually result in my death.

happened to me, i went to the dentists and have now had about £600 worth of fillings done :(

basicly i hadnt gone to the dentists for years and my tooth had basicly rotted through! consequently i no longer eat anything (practicly) with sugar in it or anything too acidic! its shit!

get your teeth looked at and actually pull your finger out and go every 6 months! cba false nashers!

I asked my Clinician (like my lecturer but does dentistry and teaches us how) about this, and he said that you should get to a dentist because its impossible to say what's going on without having a proper look, and a proffesional would be best able to do this.

Sorry I can't be more helpful

Thanks for doing that Clare, I really appreciate it.

In the end, my housemates basically forced me to go to the dentist, and he just put a filling around the broken part, so it's all good now.
