For Sale:
Scarpa Alpha mountaineering boots ~£60
Size 11 ( I usualy take size 10-10.5 shoes) B3 crampon compatibility(will take any crampon you like; C1, C2, C3) Very warm, being plactic also totaly waterproof and low maintanance
I am only selling these as i had to buy a warmer pair for Alaska and can't see me using these any more. There a light weight plastic boot, very comfortable. They have had a reasonable amount of wear, however plastic boots are bomb proof. Providing you air the inners after use they'll last for years. They have the usual scratches on the outside and the soles show some wear, however they still have years of life left in them. I've used them in Scotland, Ice climbing in Europe, and in the Andes
They would make a good investment for some one. This type of boots normaly sell second hand much more easily than leathers. Therefore people might want to consider purchasing them to use in scotland and then selling them on if you dont have any further need for them/ don't like them (you should break even doing this). They are more ridgid, slightly heavier and therefore slightly more clumsy feeling than the B2 type boots usualy recomended by the club for scotland. However when it gets cold and your toes are tosty and others are moaning about cold feet you'll be laughing. Also if you feel you want to progress onto more technical mixed or ice climbing than B3 boots become a must in my opinion unless you have calf's like superman.
Type Scarpa Alpha into google for Pictures, reviews and descriptions.
Contact me on cxr225(at)bham.ac.uk if your interested. I can easily arrange to meet people to try them on or give more infomation.
Cheers
