 Post subject: Injury Advice

I have damaged my knee somehow although I'm not entirely sure how, needless it is sometimes so painful that I have difficulty getting up the stairs without moaning/whincing. I'm hopefully going to be going to the Doc's soon (after I register) to see if they can recommend anything specific but I wanted to ask if anyone here has ever suffered some knee-related injury before and, more specifically, how long it took to get it back to a strength fit to shag with.

As right now I wouldn't trust myself to try if the stairs are posing a problem!

Any tales/advice would be most helpful in reassuring me I'm not totally out-of-action. Gracias a todos.

Hi Rai,
I was out hiking a few years back and messed up a tendon in my lower leg. Extremely painful and I couldn't put any weight on it. Fortunately not far from a road!
I waited a few days to see my GP once home and was sent straight to casualty to get it checked out. In the end it turned out to not be serious and it had healed within a few months!

buy a support - i have done both ankle and knee in the past and supports are wonderful! they dont solve the problem but make getting around alot less painful. The Dr s might not be much help, but go anyway!
i reckon youll be climbing again in not too long...

hello! i had a knee problem once when i twisted it climbing, then again snowboarding. i damaged the muscle n ligaments. i'd suggest when u see ur doc to ask him/her to refer u to a physio > take their advice n do ALL the exercises they tell u. it really helped me n now my knee is fine.

Go to the physio in the Munrow would be my advice. It's only £25 and will probably get things sorted much sooner than waiting for a referral from your GP.

Thanks to everyone who replied, sorry it took me such a long time to get back.

I think that if I haven't been able to get any help from a GP by the start of december then I'll go to Munrow - as I am 100% broke atm.

As for not getting injured in the first place; I didn't even do anything out-of-the ordinary to get my knee like this, I just have really awfully weak leg joints and always have. It is very frustrating.
