I like big cracks and offwidth lines

But when you come off that face into that itty bitty space
And a chock stones up in your case
You get gear!

I'm thinking of getting the Berghaus Arete 45 (http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/berghaus-arete-45-p213199) any thoughts? / anyone seen one selling cheap somewhere? :cyclopsani:

Some people would probably urge you to go to a shop to try it on for size. I'd just recommend that if it doesn't fit then just man up. It should fit, I mean its got shoulder straps and everything. And not too many silly bits of webbing and tassels which is good. And I can't tell for sure from the pictures it looks like it's got an opening at the top so you can put things inside it which is a bonus.

This one's a bit more expensive but it has got a picture of a bird on it
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Osprey-Kestrel- ... B005DFJ5IA

but on a serious note some little bird told me Osprey will mend any rips and tears if you send it to them free of charge

That particular Osprey rucksack is more designed for hill walking and therefore isn't overly streamlined (it sticks out a lot). A better choice would be the Osprey Mutant: http://www.outdoorkit.co.uk/product.php?product_id=8729&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=froogle&gclid=CLT3su_i67oCFYbLtAodHXwAZQ
However, it is more expensive and the Arete will do the same job just with less special features 8)

I need 2 drivers, with cars. You'll get a £60 discount and we'll pay for someone else to be insured on your car if you want to share the driving. Please let me know! :thumleft:

Also, put the navigation day in your diaries, 1st December!

Nice :thumleft:

The navigation meeting will be birght and early at 1030am on the 1st December (this Sunday) in the Mandela room in the guild.

It's super important that you come, even if you know a bit about navigating already. If you have a compass bring it along, as well as any gear related questions. If you're really keen then have a look at this http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/docs/ebooks/map-reading.pdf
Let me know if you can't make it!
See you there! :D

I can't make it, I can give you my compass if you want to borrow it for the session
