The AGM will be held on Wednesday 10th of March in the Learning Centre LG32 from 6pm.
It's really important that as many of you as possible come to this. It is where you will decide who runs the club next year.

Candidates will need to be nominated and seconded by members of the club. There will be a round of speeches on why you would be the best person for that position and a round of questions will follow. Speeches for the non-executive roles don't have to be too long at all so don't let that put you off.

Once this has finished candidates will leave the room. The vote will then take place. ALL VOTES WILL BE ANONYMOUS.

UBMC Committee Positions

President
(Executive Position)
The president has overall responsibility for the club, he or she chairs committee meetings,
supports the rest of the committee and generally oversees everything that goes on.
Unfortunately, tradition requires that no females are allowed to run for this position.
Talk to: Gareth

Vice-President
(Executive Position)
Works closely with the president in the role of generally looking after everything
and acts asdeputy to the president should he or she not be available for any reason.
The VP is also responsible for running Pembroke/Cornwall, the clubs health & safety and training courses.
Talk to: Michaf C

Treasurer
(Executive Position)
Responsible for keeping track of the UBMC money – a very important role. The guild provides
treasurer training so you don’t necessarily have to know the ins and outs straight away, but a
methodical approach and good attention to detail will help.
Talk to: Phil

Secretary
(Executive Position)
Takes minutes at committee and general meetings, deputises if both the president and vicepresident
aren’t available. Records membership details and deals with the BMC.
The role also requires giving sexual favours to the President as and when he demands them.
Talk to: Rose

Social Secs (2 positions)
Social secs organise our fortnightly socials which can be (more or less) anything they choose,
although a good balance between alcoholic and more chilled out socials is always a good way
to go. They are also responsible for running Stanage and the Annual Dinner.
This is one of the easiest roles on Committee - because there are two people it hardly seems like they do any work at all.
Talk to: Sarah, Katie, Michaf C or Rose.

Gear Secs (2 positions)
Are you the kind of person who'd lose their balls if they weren't in a bag?
If so, then reconsider before running for this position. Girls are fine cus they don't have balls.
Responsible for buying, maintaining and retiring all the club gear as well as ensuring gear is available for trips and Wednesday afternoons.
Talk to: Alice

Mountain Sec
Runs the Scotland trip and organises any other winter climbing related events that they want to bring in.
Must have killed at least one full-sized Polar or Grizzly bear.
Black bears and cubs don't count because they are smaller.
Talk to: Tom 'Grizzly' Green

Indoor Sec
Responsible for running our competitions, BUCS and random inter-university ones.
Also organises inter-club comps. Must be able to crush diamonds with a full crimp.
Talk to: Jack

Caving Sec*
Responsible for caves.
Talk to: Katy

*Depending on the outcome of the next committee meeting the position of caving sec will be up for review at the AGM.

I wouldn't vote for u!! I don't think girls should be on committee we are too irrational and emotional, power should stay with the men

New Position!

In the wake of Petrs excellent work on the website, and becase our constiution allows it, we'll be opening up an extra position for Committee next year. The title of the role will be:

Web Sec
This person will be responsible for maintaining and improving the excellent UBMC.co.uk site
The right candidate will already have considerable experience with website related shizzle.
Only those who come to the role with this experience can be considered.

If there is no-one with sufficient experience, or if no-one really care, there will be no web sec.

Thanks and good luck!

It's true you didn't, what you actually wrote was far too anti women to be allowed.

Also word on the street is you wouldn't buy an amazing UBMC calander because it was made by a girl...

That's kinda harsh you know Alaina. - Just because you've a 6 pack and are a vegan doesn't mean you can be so cruel to women!
Try being nice for a change!

CHANGE OF VENUE!

Unfortunately the Guild Council Chambers are booked up for the next fortnight.

The AGM has been rescheduled to take place in the Learning Centre LG32.

Everything else the same!

Carryouts are cool, just keep em low key.

See you then guys.
