So many questions!

If you're doing the course then the amount due is £140 otherwise it's £90 (assuming you've paid the deposit!)
Cheques should be addressed to the Guild of Students (with university of Birmingham mountaineering club on the back). If you're still not sure, bring them blank (and unsigned!) and fill out there.

It's in the guild chambers but we will all meet in the bar :D

If you're not sure about whether your boots are suitable you can bring them along and we'll take a look.

Other than that I think that's it :thumleft:

Would you like people with gear to bring it as examples? Or have you got that covered.

Ok peeps we're gonna have a crampon fitting session next wednesday (15th) at 1 O'clock at the munrow. Bring your boots (if you have them) and we can tell you if they are suitable or not, and try to fit some crampons to them. If you can't come let me know and we can arrange another time to meet.

Cheers x

Oh and there are a pair of size 7 boots in the cupboard yet to be shotgunned! Rumour has it that they are very small for a 7/may be american size etc, so don't rule them out until you've tried them!

Hi Everyone
Looking forward to running the course and meeting you all.
The snow is looking great.

When looking at the kit list I would just stress that the number one item that people often omit is goggles but they can be crucial. If it's snowing and windy, progress can be really difficult without them.

My other advice is that we will be sliding about doing ice axe arrest so if your jacket is brand new, you might want to bring an old one to wear over the top when we do that. Nobody wants a hole in their new jacket or trousers!

If anyone has any questions, just drop me a line and I'll do my best to answer them.
All the best

Phil

OK - All those of you who are coming on this years trip, I am hoping to sort out getting some form of embroided headbands or something similar! :)

WHO WOULD BE UP FOR THIS?!

They would be mountain warehouse headbands - Windproof ones would be ABOUT £4ish (Colour: Black). Fleece headbands would be ABOUT £5.50 (Colours: Pink). Fleece neck gaiters would be ABOUT £10.50 (Colour: Black), as would windproof ones!

The prices are only estimates at the moment as I am hoping to do the embroidery myself (dont worry, you wouldn't know!) and I just need to check how much that is going to cost.

Just hoping to judge interest at the moment, until I can confirm prices! :)

Let me know which of the options you would like and I will keep you all posted! :)

THESE WILL BE LIMITED EDITION MERCHANDISE! DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!!

Pink fleecey please!

Also, I have got hold of a pair of cheap B3's (Asolo AFS 103's). They're plastic though, are they going to be too rigid if we are walking in them all day? If so I can just sell them on again?

Thankss

Yes please... Pink! Although tom is a little disappointed as he already has a pink one and likes being different and special. Oh well! Yay Scotland! :safe:

Plastic ones are not ideal, but people have walked much further in plastic boots than you will be doing in Scotland - so it depends a large amount on your pain threshold! Getting something that fits is important though.

For the Good of the trip i will accept that everyone should get pink!

Also I think they should be compulsory. So get one for everyone on the trip! once those that haven't responded yet see the awesomeness they'll definitely want one.

BTW they're this cool!:
