I was shopping today and tried on some boots that I was told in the shop (in kent) were B2, but on cotswolds website it says they are B1 (on ellis brigham says they are B2) so was just wondering if anyone knew what they are cos i found them really comfy!

They are Raichle 60 degree goretex boots

Anyone have any idea??

thanks stina x

I dunno but they have them on special offer here - http://shop.themountainfactor.com/product.php?xProd=884

The description here seems to suggest they are B2 as G12s are C2 - http://www.climbers-shop.com/1008/footw ... gree_.aspx

Some more opinons here - http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=157815

I have Raichle B2's Krys, and they're wonderful. Don't know what they are but I have done steep ice climbing and lonnnng snow routes in them and they faired fine in both. I think the ones you're looking at are very similar, and they'd certainly be fine for scotland. Also, Ellis Brigham seem to know what they're talking about.

Been to snow and rock today, they have quite a few boots, they also do a price match, so if you have a look online first, find out where is selling them cheaper, make note and they'll ring them up to check, hey presto, cheaper boots/anything else they sell without having to buy online/potentially not try on.

Plus you get to say hello to Pete.

Looking at the links, it seems the general consensus is they are strap crampon compatible. As Andy said, Ellis Brigham generally know there stuff. You could always give a store a call to check.
There may be different versions/years of the boot which are different also.
Good Luck!
