Payback time. So on Sunday I took two friends on to the Cullin ridge. We had a 3am alpine start to complete the 18miles and 2500 m of ascent. By 5pm we'd completed all but 3 peaks and were negotiating yet another lose chossy Bassalt dyke when a hold snapped on my friend Rob and he fell 2-3m on the rough ground. He'd broken his leg above the ankle and the terrible call to Mountain Resuce was made. Within 30 mins the RAF were on the scene and a 2 hour recovery operation was under way. Rob was recovered to hospital and we completed 1 more peak Bruach Na Firthe while we waited for the helicopter to refuel. Now ESC Rob's climbing club have picked up on the 'shag everest' stunt and are planning to do it themselves and I've said I'll do Rob's share. If anybody would like to support MTR then I'll happily accept a £ from each of you.

Sounds like quite an adventure! Hope your friend is feeling better soon. I'd happily sponsor you a few quid :) When and where are you doing it?

Such a lack of keenness :(
It wasnt that much effort! all you need to is nag people at rp and spend 5 minutes on the website, and dont forget to get in contact with Bristol Pear early as they said they would be keen to do a little more to help us this year.

I've raised £320 for Mountain Rescue so far but if anybody else has a couple of quid spare I'll happily take late sponsorship.
