Those of you that have been to the alps - where did you stay? I'm thinking of going out there for a very christmassy break, but none of us know anywhere to stay.. Chamonix? Argentiere? It's all greek to me.

Most of us stayed in a campsite (mad bernads) in Argentiere. You get a free bus pass to get into Chamonix (which stopped at 1930) - so lots of hitch hiking in the evening.

Easyjet fly from Brum - Geneva as of December.

Although the campsite is a ski run in the winter so it might not be a great place to stay. There are apartments all over argentiere and cham so shouldnt be too hard to find somewhere

cant be more specific... but there is a guesthouse/hostel in argentiere somweher!
