Am thinking of going bouldering at nesscliffe this weekend. Does anyone have a guidebook for it? Also whats the rock like, is it likely to dry fast or is it going to be a soggy mess at this time of year?

Cheers

The club has the shropshire bouldering guide, it's in that. It's an amaing place to boulder, but if it's at all wet it's a big waste of time, the rock kinda absorbs water (it's sandstone) which makes it really slippy and doubles the grade of everything. AND the holds break really easily if they're wet which is really bad.

It takes a couple of days to dry properly. You could try pontsford rocks, less good for bouldering, but you could have plenty of fun there, it's in the westmidlands guide.

Take a look in the shropshire bouldering, there are some other good places as well as nescliffe that aren't as breakable when wet. im not sure, but i think pontesford may also be in there?
