Hey Guys,

The Vale are hosting a weekend of films and a lecture from Doug Scott related to mountaineering and extreme sports in association with the Kendal Moutaineering Festival. It all kicks off tonight so check out the the details and posters below for more info on the event!


Unfortunately the Doug Scott lecture clashes with the roaches trip so some of us won't be able to make that one but the free films look like they'd be worth a look too!

Hello UBMC Society,

We are holding an Extreme Sports Film festival up at The Hub on The Vale provided by the nice people from the “Kendal Mountain Festival” and thought you and your society should know about it. We will be showing a whole host of eye-popping, adrenaline-pumping outdoor films and the best bit is that the Films are FREE!!!


We are also having a talk by the legendary climber Doug Scott who has reached the summit of 40 peaks many of which were tackled using new routes Alpine Style without the use of artificial oxygen!!!


The Line up is as follows:


Friday 21st October - FREE

Adrenaline Mix & Air Film – 9pm - A real barrage of adrenaline pumping, white-knuckle films including: Project Megawoosh, Skyliners, MedeoZ, Jump of Joy, Send it Sistah, Ecce Ach Maco & No Ceiling


Saturday 22nd October -£6 to Students, £10 Otherwise

Doug Scott “Life & Hard Times” – 7pm - Doug Scott has made 45 expeditions to the high mountains of Asia and has reached the summit of 40 peaks. Come hear his talk “Life and Hard Times” on Doug’s climbing adventures.

Sunday 23rd October - FREE

Snow, Air, Bike & Boat Film – 4.30pm - A feast of extreme sports films from 2010 including: Rush Hour Dream, Shortcut, Tower Gully, Wildwater, A Life Ascending, Argentine Project & Australis: Antarctic Ski Odyssey.
