Well I've booked my flights to Geneva to leave on the 28th June and to return on the 18th July. Hopefully I'll be able to see some of you guys out there during that time!

Good work.

Hope everyone's still Psyched for the alps!! For those of you who are going, now is the time to start thinking about getting in shape for it, and that doesn't just mean going to Stanage! You'll get a lot more out of your trip if:

a) you're fit enough to get to the climbing without getting knackered (i.e. you can walk a long way with a big pack on)

b) you're used to climbing lots in one day quickly (long distances at a fairly modest grade)

c) you're used to climbing with a rucksack on in your big boots

d) you're slick with your rope work. (which would ideally include some techniques like moving together and crevasse rescue)

For top tips on how to achieve these look here:

And here:

Also if you guys are up for it we could do a weekend of alpine prep, probably in Whales, where we could go through some of the rope work and do a load of long routes. Let me know if you're interested and what dates you can do.

X

P.s. sorry I couldn't help Rob.

Thanks for the links... I'd read them before, but didn't really take it in.

I've already started up my running to get fit for the Alps... (Laps of Selly Oak Park every other day)

I'd be up for an Alpine Prep in Whales, when and where though I have no idea :| ... I've a pretty full month ahead of me atm.
