Hey guys, I hope everybody is good and sorry to hijack the forum but there is an alright story and a good cause at the end of it all...

Anyway last November I was on holiday in morocco and got drunk with a 40 year old man who bet me 100 quid that I couldn't beat him in Half an Iron man in Majorca... Being the competitive idiot I am i obviously told him he didn’t have a hope in hell and in a week and a half I will be standing on a beach ready to go....

Please don’t be disillusioned by this story and think I have some how turned into some one who goes on diets and gets in really good shape as this certainly hasn’t happened (just finished my 3rd chocolate bar of the day)

But yes on the 14th of May I will be swimming 1.2 miles in the sea (never swam in open water and found out yesterday that i also have to do this in a wetsuit, which of course i have never done either), Cycling 56 miles (found out yesterday that this contains a 600m shag over 7km, which having only owned a bike since Christmas and never really seen a hill coming from London could be interesting) and then running half a marathon (definitely gonna beast this bit...). Of course all of this will be done in the heat (potentially 30 degrees) and whilst weighing the lovely 14 and a half stone that I do (which I have some how failed to lose).

If you hadn’t already guessed I am almost definitely going to lose my bet and the money has been put aside but to make sure something good comes out of the day I am raising money for a school that really helped a mate of mine before he sadly passed away just before Christmas. If you could spare anything that would be amazing as I would really like something good to come out of this (excuse my bad language) stupid idea.

Oh and I will be finishing even if it does result in ‘the crawl’ that was witnessed in an iron man in 1997 (youtube it, cant post a link as Im at work)

Best go before I get sacked…

HOPE YOU’RE ALL GOOD!!!

Haha, what a lad. I watched an Ironman on Skysports the other day and those guys were all stacked. Mate, 56miles on a bike and then a half marathon... If you get to the end I will definitely donate! To be fair I will donate even if you only get half way!

I'm pretty sure these events have a pretty high mortality rate....

jack, i've really missed your presence and i will always regret missing your birthday at snobs. keep eating those chocolate bars buddy! mark duggan once trained for a 2 day fell run by gaining a stone and a half (sam walters trained for it by trying to be able to deadlift a car)

I shall either be crippling myself or I am going to finish!

Would be really good to catch up with both of u (and everyone else) really soon! Going to be up in brum quite a bit next year as well. U never know I might even come for a shag! This ironman physique might be a bit more forgiving...
