Would you like to journey into the Amazon and work alongside an indigenous tribe featured on a BBC programme?

This once in a life time volunteer opportunity in Ecuador will take place over the summer of 2009.

Working and living with the Huaorani people at their awarding winning eco-tourism complex, volunteers will work on a number of essential projects including the construction of a water tower and a trail to a stunning waterfall.

By supporting the Huaorani you can make an invaluable contribution to the community-based ecotourism operation which provides an income for the tribe and one of the most successful ways of protecting their culture and the forest on which they depend.

In addition to the volunteering, you will be able to contribute to an important research project investigating what the tribe really think about the challenges and opportunities facing them including oil exploitation, human rights violations and indigenous peoples’ key role in tackling climate change.
