I think beg. August will be pretty hot everywhere...
.. so climbing in the morning, sightseeing/hiking/beach during the day and climbing in the evening again... sounds very good to me :)

If you want sport climbing in reasonable weather try Portland on the South Coast. Within 10 minutes of 1000 sport lines anywhere on the Head land. Hence the name Sportland. Masses of boulders problems and Deep Water Soloing withing 20minutes drive.

would be cheaper... bugger. i wanted to get out the country lol.
do lots of people have quickdraws? if we're off on a crazy sport expedition?
my dad's 'rack' (that i assumed i could nick the quickdraws off) turned out to be a waay old thing with a few nuts, few hexes (not a full set of either) and NO QUICKDRAWS! what is this craziness? i'm told they werent invented then.. snigger.
i do however, have a rope.. and its not that old :)

i have a full rack that has 10 quickdraws on it. most sport routes only have 6 or so bolts on them

hey guys if this is gonna happen we need to get things sorted
what do ppl think about portland? easy/cheaper to get to
also when? how about something like the 1st-10th of august? thats roughly when most ppl suggested.
as for quickdraw if we are that short we can beg/borrow/steal either that or we can each buy a couple.

going on holiday 2moro night so lets get this sorted xx

Altho Im pretty gutted about the lack of travel abroad i think this would be cool, and more people could come like whoever is around at the time or whatever. where is portland anyways? cant rememebr what was said on the thread and cant be bothered to look. coz i live in like central england. I could prob buy a few quick draws and i think sport is def the way to go due to lack of gear, may buy a rope too if im feelin particularly flash for cash. 1st to 10th is good for me. anyone looked at accomm or anything?

There's no camp sites on the Island, but apparently you can stay in caravan's or something?? I'm pretty sure there will be a load of campsites on the mainland but that would me driving too and from portland everyday which might be a bit of a mission. Alternatively you could camp wild, as there is a car park which you can park in for 72hours max for free. However there are meant to be some crazy insects and reptiles in Portland, poisonous caterpillars and adders!
