correct me if i'm wrong but there's a damaged (purple) 60m double which, if it hasn't already, could do with being cut into two

There is indeed, it's in the rope bits / tat bag on the top shelf.

Jake weren't you the one who damaged it?

my answer last time which went something along the lines of "No, i didn't sign out/use the doubles." remains unchanged. maybe next time I'll append "go f**k yourself".

LOL, apologies. The only reason I asked was because you might have used them on the Ogwen trip not long before. It just annoys me that someone in the club has been dishonest about it, or very negligent in not noticing.

Unfortunately MILF-Hunter, it happens all the time.

For as long as I have been involved with the club, each year at least one rope has been damaged without the perpetrator owning up.

The main reason for not owning up is the potential cost of replacing a rope.... why own up when its going to cost you £100 and keeping quiet is free.

It is just one of those things that arises when you have pooled gear.

I seem to recall in my year as gear sec, a half rope got stuck in a crack. Instead of spending the time to dislodge it, the rope was cut in half.
