I have 60m rope, complete club rack and two helmets + my own rack consisting of 8 penises, 8 screwgates, couple of slings and 9 quickdraws.

Depending on where you go, but for most of france you will only need abour 5-8 quickdaws, a sling for multipitch and tying in at the top of a shag, as most of europe is bolted.

but there were some "traditional" routes where I have been to requiring some wires/friends for extra protection in some parts..

one other thing, everyone should make sure you have a belay plate also suitable for abseiling (might be quite useful).

another thing with me - if I come I will most certainly go one way only (so you can have more space in a car on the way back, or somebody can just pick up very cheap flight to marseille and have their stuff taken in a car)

ok.. to get this thread going, here is a proposal for a leaving date:

week 1: last week of July+beginning of August
week 2: 3rd August till 10th..

.. please state which week would you prefer to go, so we get this first thing out of the way :)

I do not mean to organize the trip (I simply can not since I am not a driver :) ), I just want to get the organization moving a bit :)

i would prefer week two as well.
from speaking to alek etc, apparently verdon is painfully hot, so taking weather into consideration, we might want to aim somewhere either climbable in the day, or early morning/evening climbs.
