SCOTLAND TRIP!!!

From the 28th December to 4th January this amazing trip provides the perfect introduction to winter mountaineering! For those more experienced it’s a chance to get out in the hills for some gnarly times in the Cairngorm National Park.

There will be mountaineering, there will be skinny dipping, there will be dancing in the streets of rural Scotland on New Years Eve (CEILIDH!!!!!!) and plenty of exciting shenanigans.

Never been winter mountaineering? Never seen snow? Never seen a mountain!? It matters not! (In fact I would recommend this trip as an antidote to the aforementioned afflictions!) There will be a winter skills course on the first two days run by the brilliant Pinnacles of Acheivement. This course will provide training in all the essential skills and give you the knowledge you’ll need to stay safe in the mountains. This course is compulsory for all novices (If you’re not sure whether you’re a novice just come and have a chat with me! ) UBMC being a kind and generous club subsidise this course from £110 to just £60! There will be twelve spaces on the course so get in quickly with sign ups to get yourself a space.

The price for the week is £160 (+ £60 if you're on the course). Online sign ups will be in 2 weeks on Tuesday 14th at 6.00pm.


We'll also be running a navigation training event and crampon fitting before the trip, dates TBC
