Oh BOLLOCKS have we all missed our chance to go running up massive hills, in the pouring rain and driving wind with nothing other than custard powder, raisins and smash potato to look forward to eating in a tiny, leaky tent and then the oppotunity to get up and do it all again for FREE?

Thats the kind of offer people can't usually refuse.

"f**k it, too hard, lets not bother"

?

You all missed out. Fact.

And that smash and custard was AMAZING.

That does sound like something you can only appreciate in the cold and rain!

A tad harsh Mr Marine Tom. I put up with knee pain to finish the event when I did the A-class 3 years ago, the result was a very swollen knee and ankle, and not being able to stand up for the next 2 days. Trained harder this time, hoping that would solve the problem but it didn't.
After literally crawling down the last hill into camp on the Saturday night, I still had some hope that my knee would recover. After an hour of the Sunday, much of which was spent walking down hills backwards to stop my knee collapsing, pulling out seemed like the sensible course of action.

Fom what I've read the only way to finish the A-class without injury is to not train. I have no proof that this method doesn't work.

Sorry Sam, that was my reporting there, didnt realise your knee was the real issue. Fair enough for pulling out.

Knees seem to be a recurring theme of trouble for all you elderly folk. I can recommend a good orthopaedic surgeon - maybe group discount?

Knee injury - fair enough, I heard rumours by way of wayward reporting! Theres the other factor, in that I applied my school of alpinism

"That sounds hard, lets not even think about trying!"

Congrats to all who took part, I heard that MD Lane survived this year, well done that man.

I'm on for next year. I'm running with Starley, and we're taking Alek in a bag.
