Hi, I starting to work on UBMC facebook application and I need your ideas! 8)

I am thinking of an app with UBMC logo, than it will say if you are in a committee, and than I would like to put there some additional fields. My ideas are following:

Hardest shag I have done (grade and place)

Most favourite shag

Attitude to sport climbing

Favourite climbing quote

etc etc.. tell me your ideas!

Oh dear god.

If I could remember who you where I might actually shoot you.

PS, it's been mathematically proven that the number of applications on your profile is inversely proportional to your penis size.

Lovely idea.

Better still, we could just try talking to each other.

There's also a member introduction thread that has that sort of info on it if you really are into something along those lines.

ack, the worst sort of facebook apps are the ones that just stick something on your profile and don't actually do anything interesting/useful :(
like 'hunk/babe of the day' or whatever. how daft

unfortunately I am somewhat lacking in ideas for what might count as an interesting and useful app for ubmc, hehe

OK, maybe the shooting was a bit harsh.

I made a graph :)

Of course it's hardly conclusive and not a large enough sample to really show anything, but it is real data with non collected ommitted.

I'd just like to add that I hate facebook applications too.

They're pointless and take up too much room so that it can take a few minutes to scroll down to the wall on some of my friend's pages by which time I've got bored and can't be bothered to post.

If I were a man Alek I probably would have a small non-functioning penis yes, medical science just isn't advanced enough to give girls a very good deal with a sex change.

OK, I don't like applications in the first place, I also think a couple of your suggestions are kinda pretentious and elitest, but my only real objection is to putting the clubs name on it. Fine if you want to do the application, but don't you think it's a bit rude and presumptious to put it under the name of an unaffiliated organisation? Maybe consider just doing a general climbing one?

Note: I'm not on the committee and don't represent their views, just my own.

I really did not mean to do anything in the name of the commitee without their consent, I did not intend to publish app with UBMC name on it without asking the committee first, but I wanted to have something a littlebit more solid than an idea before asking them..

... climbing app would be fine too, to be honest, I really like coding and when I spend time learning new things, I just like the result to be some use...

By the way, really nice graph, thank you for the efford :D

Which of the suggestions you do not like? I definitely do not consider myself pretentious, I just tried to think of fields people might like to have on their profiles. I have never been a good in empathy, but I guess that is quite common among computer scientists . That's why I really need suggestions, ideas or just simple "we do not like it, not a good idea" . So thank you for sharing your view.

Dont worry yourself there Zard, Jaq is simply concerned she'd b forced to reveal that fact that in secret shes a really hardcore climber - declaring her hardest shag to be an excellent free ascent of Zeppelin E3 5c would mean we'd all discover her secret.

I hate facebook apps, so on that basis it is a terrible idea. But I commend your enthusiasm.

Zard

I don't know if someone else on the committee has got in touch with you already about this, so forgive me if I'm repeating what you've already heard. We talked about your application and because it is your own thing, rather than an official club production, we think that instead of using UBMC or the Stoats in the name, you could call it something generic, like, as Jacqui suggested, a "climbing" application, or something more original if you can think of one! Good luck with it!
