Hokey....

Pembroke is fast approaching after the exams, and for those of you who want to tune up your rope-work skillz this the answer to your payers.

The course will be held on the 5th of June. [Weekend after the last exam]

Plan: Meet Paul for 9:00am in the lay-by at the bottom of the Roaches. He'll be in a Blue Vito van.
Pair yourselves up and between the two of you, you should have a rack and a single rope.

Price: 25 per person + 6

Location: Roaches!

There are currently 6 available spaces; however if more are interested another instructor can be obtained.

The 6:1 ratio means you'll be getting as optimum a tuition time as possible. This is a really good course to get on guys; this way you can be as safe as possible on the Pembroke trip, thus making the most of your week! And Paul is an awesome instructor I'm sure you'll learn lots!

You know the drill, it's on a first come, first paid, first reserved basis.

I will be at Red Point this Wednesday to collect money of people. I'll also be on campus as well, drop me text on 07835926627 if you wan't me to take some cash off you.

So put you name down if you want to go!

Ze Car List:

Josh D's - Lean, Mean Rock Climbing machine
FISH CHUGGER S
Jack B Paid
JCB

Josh Smith's - Paid Sensual Social Saloon
Jake L Paid
Sensei Chris S Paid
Lawrence (Bird is the word) Paid

did this course last year and depends if he runs it the same but you will go through set ups and gear placements and then some other work on escaping belays and abbing and stuff and then u will have time to shag, so a few routes can be fitted in unles you shag with andy c and he takes forever to set up so u only do like one! lol

The dates have been confirmed. So guys if you wan't to guarantee your slot, drop me a line, and pay for the ze course. :)

Although 6 places have already be reserved, more people can still sign up. So get your names down if your interested.

If you going to Pembroke, and you want to be sure on your rope-work skills put your name down, and we can form another group of 6 - the more the merrier. :)

For any of you guys who started climbing this year I cannot stress how good these courses are, it will take you from having a good idea of what you are doing (whether it is best practice or not could be debatable) and make you competant at all your ropework. Some things that you may be doing may look safe enough but Paul can spot anything you are not quite doing right and help you make it better.

I love how the title has been changed to 'shoe lace-works' automatically!

I agree with Michaf C, probably the best way to prepare for a trip like Pembroke...even if you are getting confident outdoors it's worth your time to practice belay and set up skills giving you more time on the trip to fly up some crazy routes
:salut:

There is scheduled to be a Committee climbing trip on the same day, so as far as transportation goes, there will be enough drivers to get you up there.
Once I've heard back from people, I'll let you know the specifics. :)

Plan: Meet Paul for 9:00am in the lay-by at the bottom of the Roaches. He'll be in a Blue Vito van.
Pair yourselves up and between the two of you, you should have a rack and a single rope.

Don't forget a lunch! If you've your own gear, bring it, as its good to get used to using your own gear rather than the clubs. If you need anything, get in touch with the gear sec's [Sensei Chris you are one! so no need to talk to yourself!]
