Rob G has left me with an unused 40m static rope to become part of club gear if the gear secs want it. Just letting you know.

Also anyone know any good driving schools in bham?

Sounds sexual. We'll pick it up start of next term. No idea on driving schools.

i can recomend Drivers GB in Selly Oak (2doors down from Bristol Pear), as Laurence said, i work for them!

see www.driversgb.com and phone simon /arthur on 0121 472 6336
17.95 for 1 hour lesson before 4pm in the week, other wise 18.95, block booking for 10 hours for 175
we got a shop you could pop into to speek to someone, tell them u know me, u can learn and revise for theory for free on the PCs there if u need to !

Cheers Tommy I already booked a lesson with them actually, it was definitely the cheapest I could find around here.

Is this one of the unused still on the reel but too old to be used therefore needs to be chucked out statics from the wind turbines? If it is, I'm not sure and will have to check with Tommy, but I don't think the club will be able to use it for obvious reasons.

If this is the case I'd happily take it for personal use.

If it is being got rid of due to age then we dont want it, since we retire our gear based on age anyway rather than condition.

yeah, seem like we shouldn’t use it in our club. Our gear should be retired when it exceeds if manufacturers recommended life or becomes 'out of condition' before hand.

Does that mean that we always retire gear that is still in good enough shape to be climbed on? If so is there any chance of it finding its way on to my harness?

.... We could be nice..... but other than a rack at the end of the year all other stuff is usually busted hence it gets written off.

I thought "retiring" racks was one of the (few) perks of being gear sec?
