Hey hey UBMCer's!

It's getting to the time of year where UBMC runs training trips for its new committee members. The first of these is a course called Ropeworks which teaches the basics of gear placement and safe set ups after completing a lead c.limb.

I know there are quite a lot of members who are interested in expanding their ability to lead outdoors and Ropeworks provides the perfect beginners course for the uninitiated. It would also help tidy up the skills of anyone who has done some outdoor leading but is unsure of gear placements/set ups and would like some refinement.

The course is one intensive day and takes place in the Peak District. This year it will run on Sunday the 28th of April and there are currently four spaces available for anyone who would like to come. The cost for the course is £30, which is great value for money as you will learn a lot and then get a chance to practice your new skills on the summer trip!

If you are interested don't hesitate to get in touch :)

Big love,
Hev

Hey Heather, I'd be interested in this but is it okay that I have never lead outdoors before (only seconded...)? x

Just a quick update, Hannah can no longer attend so there's still one free space. Hit a brother up if you want to come along :)

Could I get you guys to take as many photos of the Gear cupboard and its use, as is humanly possible when you set off...

and of some of the gear being used/bomber placements (no penises though)

I want to stick some pics on the gear page of the website :)
