Hey guys, Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great festive period!

It is nearing that time of year again that we all get dressed up, eat alot of food and drink even more alcohol! This year, we are taking Annual Dinner to OGWEN!

25th-27th February!

We have booked the huts in Tremadog (http://www.ericjones-tremadog.co.uk/)

Now, there are 2 adjoining huts there - one sleeps 35 and the other 16. So, I dont know if you 'oldies' were planning on staying at Glan Dena or not, but there would probably be space for you with us! :)
You could maybe have the 16 birth hut (with some of the more responsible members of the club!) so you were out of the way of the rest (only if you want to be ofcourse!!).

Hotel booking is in progress, but I will update you as soon as I know more.
At the moment though, please let us know if you are planning on coming and where you are planning on sleeping! (I am informed that at the last count, there were 18 MAM in Glan Dena).

Thanks alot! I'll be back soon with more info! :thumleft:

The menu is as follows (Please decide your options and let us know on the end of this thread)

Starters:
- Oven baked goats' cheese wrapped in Parma ham with cranberry sauce
- Chicken liver pate with salad leaves and melba toast
- Stuffed Peppers, with a Tomato & Basil Sauce (v + VEGAN!)

Mains:
- Braised Welsh lamb shank with potato puree garlic and redcurrant sauce
- Salmon wrapped in filo pastry with seafood sauce
- Home Made Vegetable Wellington served with a Stilton Sauce (v)
- Roasted Half Pineapple filled with Stir Fried Vegetables served with Rice (VEGAN!)

Desserts:
- Sticky toffee pudding with cream
- Fresh fruit pavlova
- Sherry trifle

Tea or Coffee

.... your not really going to Ogwen! Thats false representation! :P

But i couldn't really care. I thought i would let you know there are a few different plans bouncing around this end that are kind of weather dependent.
Either:
Stay at GD night one and go wintering on saturday. Drive to Tremadog to get dressed, begin drinking and stay at tremadog night two and then see what sunday brings climbing wise.

or:
Stay at tremadog the whole time because its too warm to go wintering in t'north!

I know its not much help for you organising stuff as we won't know quite what we're guna do till nearer the time.

Phil....that is approximately NO help whatsoever! haha. Ok, well if you could keep me posted and tried to have made a decision by the time sign-up comes and money starts flying around, that would be great! :)

Twigger....Much more helpful! That's cool, and I might just take you up on that driving offer! :thumleft:

I couldn't agree more that its not very helpful. I just thought it may help planning knowing that if possible i would like transport on the saturday to the meal and a bed.

Unfortunately, its quite a common case with UK winter mountaineering that you have to take what you can get when you can get it - hence needing a bit of flexibility on saturday.

I'm coming! As with Phil, not sure of the arrangements yet. Give us time to ponder!

I'm going to El Chorro and there isn't the slightest chance of any of this mountaineering malark, just sport climbing in the rain!

Me and tom are coming. If it makes life easier we'll just come on the trip as normal. We may end up doing something slightly different but since youre not reliant on cars for getting to the crag each day, then it shouldn't affect the logistics of the trip too much. If you need any help let me know!
