It doesn't matter how much previous experience of climbing you have - the point of our club is to cater for anyone who would like to be part of a climbing club - complete beginners will be taught what they need to know and those already proficient can simply join in, so don't worry about how much experience you have!

On the subject of clothes: climbing actually involves a lot of sitting and standing around, which can soon make you very cold outside! The best thing is to have lots of layers so that you can add or remove clothes depending on how warm it is - so if you only have one jumper, it would be good to wear a few of your other warmest tops underneath. If you have a warm coat that it is ok to get a bit dirty, take that aswell. Waterproofs are always useful as they cut out the wind, which helps to keep you warm, so I would reccomend bringing a waterproof coat if you have one. We don't plan to be outside in torrential rain, so waterproof trousers aren't essential.

Other than that, bring what I've put on the kitlist. Foodwise, bring water to keep you hydrated and enough food to keep you going all day (I usually bring a sandwich, chocolate bars, a banana and another piece of fruit) and something that you can share with your driver as a thankyou for driving.

I'l come if were going anywhere with bouldering, yes I'm the annoying bloke who won't go rope climbing! Should I bring my bouldering mat?

Yes, there's bouldering where we're going. Are you a driver? If not it depends on if anyone is willing to fit a bouldering mat in their car. Let me know by next Wednesday if you plan to come with or without your bouldering mat (rope climbing's not that bad!), though bear in mind that places will be given to those who pay first.

The graduate fair at the NEC is on that day so I can't come now.

Yeah that's fine Helen and Ruth if there are enough drivers. At the moment, however, we only have enough for a small trip.

Soo: yes you can call round, I should be in around then, but if not, you can give it to Alice or Maddie if they're in, or post it through the letterbox.

Again, everyone's spaces are limited by the number of drivers that go, and we need to have a balance of experience, so everyone that wants to may not be able to go, but we still have till next Wednesday to finalise who is going.

Ok, I understand that if there are not enough drivers then the number of people who can go is limited. That's fair enough. We'll both bring our money to Creation on Wednesday and then you can let us know then if we can or can not come.
