Planning on coming on a wintry Scottish adventure? Here's a list of stuff you should bring:
Boots (need to be B2 or B3 rated) **These are essential but expensive, try to grab a second hand pair or borrow them from someone in the club**Warm Socks
Thermal bottoms (check in Aldi, often have cracking deals this time of year)
Thermal tops
Trousers that you can walk/go climbing in (No Jerome you can’t wear shorts)
Gaiters (optional but keeps the snow out your socks, and will probably save your trousers from tearing on crampons!)
Fleeces (mix of thick and thin + one for your bag as a spare)
Warm hat/balaclava/buff (needs to fit under a helmet, +spare)
Gloves (one thick waterproof pair and one thin pair to go underneath) BRING SPARES!Waterproof jacket and trousers (maybe some old/cheap ones too for while you're getting used to crampons!)
Rucksack for climbing in (35l-50l)Down/synthetic jacket (optional but warm, ideally stylishly repaired with painted silk/gaffa tape.)
Head torch and spare batteries
Goggles (not for swimming obvs…)
CompassThermos flask (Bring if you can, absolutely lovely on the hill.)
Water bottles
Orange Survival bagRoll top dry bag(s) (optional but keeps stuff in your bag dry)
Harness, Belay plate/crab and helmet (can borrow from club)
Personal first aid kit
Normal clothes
Sleeping bag for the hut (it's heated!)
Pyjamas
Teddy bear
Stuff to wash with. (If you’re into that personal hygiene thing.)
Beard (optional, but you'll look like a badass; knitted/crochet/wild bear fur all apply.)
