Just wondering if anyone has been to El Chorro for sunny bolt clipping in Spain, and if so any tips for great routes or places to stay? And did you use the Rockfax guide or something else?

Thanks.

Hey,

No I have not been, but I did plan on going last year. During that planing I bought a 'corrin' (think that was the company) topo for europe, quite general. But I can dig it out for you if you'd like a copy. Its a CD, but I'll find some magical way to upload it (if I already havent)

I'm told the place is awesome, hence my previous desire to go. Let me know if you'd like the topos, they're not detailed, but at least you might get an idea of what the place it like.

If you find the CD I would be interested in seeing it, but don't bust a gut looking for it!

It's no effort really. My parents nagged me into organising my room over the summer so I know exactly where it is. You'll might have to wait till I get back home though.
So I'll e-mail the pdf's for El Chorro over to you this saturday or something.

As a follow up to this, El Chorro was great. The Rockfax guide is good, and I would recommend staying at The Olive Branch (http://www.olivebranchelchorro.co.uk/). Its a B+B / bunkhouse run by two English people, within walking distance of some crags (and as near as you can base yourself to most of the others) with big communal kitchen, swimming pool etc.
