The 2012 - 2013 UBMC SCOTLAND TRIP!!!

Its time to get excited and psyched for the best trip yet! We will start our adventure by travelling up to the Cairngorms in Scotland, where we will stay at Nethy station bunkhouse.

This week long epic trip involves ice climbing, mixed routes, gully climbing, banter, mountain walking, skiing/boarding and much much more!

The trip will run from the 29th of December 2012 - 5th January 2013 so put these dates in your diary. Yes that's right, we'll be there for New years eve where we traditionally gatecrash a local villages Hogmanay celebrations with where there is always an amazing ceilidh - think Scottish country dancing and fireworks of EPIC proportions!

Got no winter experience?
For all novices a 2 day winter skills course is available, which will give you the fundamental skills needed for winter climbing. However there are only 12 spaces on this course so get on board fast!

Another date for your diary is the 1st of December when we will be running navigation training for half a day in Birmingham. We will be going over the basic essentials to help you with safety when you get to the mountains! This will be compulsory for anyone who is inexperienced with naviagating in the mountains and planning to be on the winter skills course. It will also be a good reminder for anyone hoping to recap and consolidate their skills so please attend!

The price for the full week is £150 and £50 for the winter skills course. Sign up will start next Wednesday (14th Movember) 2pm at Redpoint and you can secure your place by paying a £50 deposit. Places on the trip are limited to 26 so get your deposit in ASAP!

If you have any questions or want a bit more info I'll be at Redpoint on Wednesdays and at Creation on Mondays.

This trip is a seriously awesome experience, so get involved!!!

Compulsory if you haven't done any winter climbing before. It is however very good value and you will learn a lot!

Shotgun! I can pay the deposit into your bank account. As I'm already in Scotland can I get somewhere easy for you to pick me up on the way? I'm definitely I'm it for the ceilidh and whiskey...

Whiskey???? The Scots won't be happy with you spelling it like that....:P

On that note, nice to hear I'll have a good whisky partner! (I guess it's kinda cool you're coming as well...) Shame you miss out on the banter wagon, although I'll be driving it this year so that may well be a good thing lol.
