In a last ditch effort to clock some mileage before Xmas, would anyone care to venture outdoors on Monday?

Will be heading to the Peak for some hard grit or Clwyd for some limestone action!

In normal circumstances this would have been a 'general chat' rather than a 'notice'. Ooops

Awesome stuff. Forecast looks decent for Monday, so long as it dosent rain on the day the right crag will be bone dry!

There are good conditions in Snowdonia if you fancy that instead. Mostly easy gullies, a nice gentle start to the season, and perfect practice for Scotland if you're going... And in case you don't believe me (mentioning no names);

good stuff there ay!! shame my winter gear is in stoke. a good day was had; calm, sunny conditions, not too cold. worlds end, our planned destination, was very wet n seeping due to the frost so we drove back to the trevor area. was much better - ace views over mid Whales in the mist and pink sun set! climbing was ok but so different to grit, not use to it hart to trust your feet on the polished limestone. trip report gareth?

Trip report in a nutshell:

Went to Worlds End arrrgggh matey. Jonny Depp wasnt there. There were however 6 sheep on the middle of the road. We raced them in our Megane. If you honked the horn they ran faster. The farmer was not impressed when we passed him. We even did some sailing in the Megane, crossed a river in it on the way to Worlds End. Seriously, it was like riding the Road of Bones to Magadan, i was all like, shit what if we dont make it? We'll be stuck. But we made it.

Worlds End had great potential but was wetter than an otters fanny. So we headed towards Trevor. Wicked area, although we did spend some 20 mins trying to find the damn crag. Turns out we were walking above it. A quick scurry and bite to eat and we were ready to shag. Rock was good. Bolts were good but few and far between eeeeeek! Twas great fun, highly recommended.

As a footnote Welsh roads are wank. Apart from the A5 which is pretty alright. Bon effort!

Righty-o:
Drove to Coed y Dinas (http://www.coedydinas.co.uk), near Welshpool, through heavy traffic. Found a Parking place Which to my disappointment wasn't a drive straight through one. Spent some time in the ornament section, the soap section, and the toy section. Rosie looked at Painting by numbers for so long I fed myself to a snake. A fine end to a long day.
