Elia and i were thinking of mapping up possible walks around coniston incase of bad weather on one of the days this weekend, wondering if anyone else is interested in joining us?

it'd just be the saturday, something really easy like 5-10 miles, probably after some climbing when everyone's too cold an wet to carry on! i've walked the area before an can get hold of maps for it so give it a thought everyone.

oh and does anyone own a compass i can borrow?!

Good thinking girls, this is a very likely outcome, and i'm sure many will join you. We will be bringing club maps, but if you have a compass and want to do some of your own map reading, there is scope for this. Basically, the plan will depends what the weather is like when we wake up, and how quickly it rains.

For those of you who want to shag, there may be an option of indoor climbing of it is wet, and enough are interested.

Walking is brilliant though, even in the rain - its how I spent my fist climbing trip! (ironically to the same place)

You're on the right track girls. Jules is a bit of a wet weather lakes specialist, so you should definately have faith in her to take you on some extreme hikes.
