if we're taking cars etc anyways - would it just be way easier and cheaper just to camp?

hi guys where in south france are you planning to go to? i am there now (in ceuse) and have talked to many euro climbers and the only crag there im aware of that is climbable in summer is ceuse. sorry to be a wet blanket. http://www.ukclimbing.com/articles/page.php?id=118

i have been to gorges du tarn for and past gorges du verdon and arnot etc and they are unbearably hot. we stayed at tarn for 2 days and decided to bail because it was a total waste of time. Only ceuse is high altitude and there are always climbing faces in the shade. in the south its impossible to shag in the sun even at high altitude. hot means 35 deg celcius and im from the tropics.

if you go to ceuse there is only one camping site climbers use. Les Guerins. They rent caravans (quite crummy) for 6 euro a night per person if available or else its 5 euro to camp. On the plus side they have fridges. The only downside is the walk up to the crag, 1hr and very sweaty. Also the grades are stiff. The routes are top notch and there are many fun climbs to be had in the 6a and beyond range. Be prepared for crimps n pockets and bring your best rock shoes.

let me know if you want more info.

ok SO. i emailed a few campsite last night and two of them got back to me and said that they will not accept group bookings at peak season. and prices are 19.00 based on two people one tent and one car and seem to be really evasive. i tried one called sea barn and i think east fleet. so we will prob, if we were thinkin about doin it, have to like buddy up and book seperately and hope they have space. can someone email eastfleet, westfleet and sea barn and ask them coz they are the ones i tried but if i ask again then they will kinda twig that we are all gonna b bookin seperately and might get a bit gay. who is gonna wanna drive, coz im up for it and i reckon like three cars and four man tents. if people could ask how much a four man pitch is for one night in these places that would be great.

Ok so, a place called seabarn farm camping park. 19.00 per night based on a tent a car and two people, five pounds for additional people. have to book in small groups as they are gay about group bookings. so, who is in for it. all i can remember off the top of my head is jay, katie, katy, me, dexter, sophie and louise. can anyone think of anyone else? i will text the people whos numbers i have but that is only katy katie steve and alex, can whoever sees this let other people know and ask where people are goin from so we can sort out cars. thanks. let me know on 077131428219

Head Count:

Katy Madden;
Katie Jeanes(D);
Rachael T(D)
Louise C(D)
Steve Burgess(D)
Alex Dexter;
Sophie Heavey;
James Kay(D)

More than enough drivers. If it's camping then there doesn't need to be a certain arrival and departure date, people can come and go as they please. However the driver has to sort there own petrol out (anyone who uses their car contributes). No point over organising this, it should be pretty laid back.

Possible other people:
I'm pretty sure Andy Cooper, Josh Daymond and Robin live down those parts. I'll let them know.
Jack Brougham.

That's quite a lot. By the way I'm still undecided on whether I'm actually coming or not, I was just trying to help you guys out finding accomodation. Cause I'll only be able to do a few days/ therefore might not be able to afford petrol to and from on my own!

i'm thinking 3 cars, we only need two but steves leaving early so he'll want his.
ok at pebble bank for two 4 man tents and 8 people, with 3 cars, it's £54 a night. £6.75 each. the lady on the phone was really nice and although they dont usually take groups once i said we were there for climbing she was fine with it. and it's the closest campsite to portland. it has showers ect and a bar. and its really close to the beach.

i'm kind of loving it...
approval please? oh and she said its best to book :)
