ChrisW, Laura and I are going to the Costa Blanca in Easter for a lovely sunny climbing trip and we were wondering if anyone else wants to come to bring it up to an even 4. There's all grades to go at with thousands of single pitch sport routes, long multipitch trad routes (13 pitch severe anyone?) single pitch trad and multi pitch sport, there's even some bouldering! Basically everything on rock at roadside venues. We want to go from Sat 22- Sat 29 March and if we book before 15th jan we can get 30% off flights-normally about £120-140 return inc taxes and charges. Accomodation will probs be £150-£200 for an appartment where we get a proper bed each (no sofa beds). So no more than £50 each for the week. Car hire is usually around £90 for the week for a compact but i did find one company for £60. Everything out there is cheap.

Please post soon if you're interested.

Update: Now going 24th-31st of March one proper bed still available (plus sofa bed). Flights are still £120

Thought I'd add more than 1 person is welcome to come find 3 more to share an appartment/hire car or we could share a villa, there are villas for 6 people upwards available at about the same price each as an appartment (some less).

If anyone has any questions or wants to come post soon as we are booking in the next couple of days.

How old do you have to be for the car hire?

I think technically the law says you just have to be of driving age which is 18 in Spain but most of the hire companies are at least min 21.

Just booked, there is one spare bed and a sofabed in the appartment if anyone wants to join us out there. We're going 24th-31st March, there seemed to be plenty of spaces left on the monarch flights from bham international which were about £120 each with 1 hold bag each(35% off ends Tuesday).

Appartment is £175 for the week so £58 at the moment for us, if 4 peeps come its £43 or £35 a week for 5.

Hire car is Renault Clio £70 per week 5 door/seat + aircon.

is it 35% off £120 for the flights, or is it £120 after the discount?

After the discount-that's not to say the prices won't change though as they often do. Although I doubt it'll get much cheaper as most of the fare was actually tax and charges and all that bullshit.

^^^ That piece of Rock is the Penon D'ifach which is about 10 mins walk from where we're staying and has bolted and trad routes over 200m (Sunbathing hotties in situ).

Guessing you guys are probably on top of it, but usually you need a credit card (not a debit card) in order to hire a car abroad. If you havent got one between you its worth sorting it out a bit in advance!

Just thought I'd add that iit probably won't be a huge difference in the total price after the sale because the 35% was off the fare not the taxes etc.
