Following on from the alps talk on monday, use this thread to organise all things Alpy.

So put down on here when you're planning on going, and went you're coming back. And if you're feeling keen what dates you applied to Conville. If you haven't applied yet, DO IT NOW, the deadline is THIS FRIDAY! (the 27th).

I hope to see you all there!!!

To start things off I will probably be heading down on the First of July for one month, if not longer....

I'm really psyked for the alps, if I was to go it would be in June, July or September, as I have to work for 6 weeks in the main school holidays. It all depends on how my other plans unfold this year but just to let you know I'll be keeping an eye on this thread in case I can go.

Cool. I've submitted my Conville Application Form :? I hope it's alright!
Anyhoo... my date choices were :

1st. 08th-10th July
2nd. 12th-14th July
3rd. 15th-17th July

I'm probably going to go out early i.e. around the 24th/25 June to rock shag with one of my mates from my old school. Anybody who is out around then is welcome to join us! [The more the merrier!]
I plan on climbing for 2 weeks (till the 7th) then providing I get on the course, doing the course and then climbing in the snowy parts with whomever is around and doesn't mind me tagging along, for about another week or so.

Im going out on the 17th july for about 3 weeks with my parents. If any one is around a week or so before/after, i could come out early/stay later.
Ill be staying about half a days drive from where the Conville course is.

I got a call from the Plas y Brenin today to confirm that I'm on the course :D So I'll definitley be out there from the 8th - 10th July, however for how long before & after those dates, I'm still unsure.

Ta,

Thanks to you and everybody else who proof read my application before I sent it off!

I'll have to start booking flights I guess.
From experience, do people recommend flying from Manchester or Luton (London)?

im guessing you will be going from wolves so would suggest manchester as its closer - taking the trip to london can be a faff. we flew from brum last year but easyjet no longer do that flight in the summer : ( dont forget to look up chamexpress as well - they are a minibus service which can pick you up from the airport and take you to the camsite - its really good and cheaper than taxies

Congrats JCB.
There also used to be a public bus service (Geneva airport -> Chamonix) which can work out well, especially if you are on your own.

Well I've booked my flights to Geneva to leave on the 28th June and to return on the 18th July. Hopefully I'll be able to see some of you guys out there during that time!
