Once again, my advice is to lurk on the forum without logging in 24 hours a day, hitting refresh like every five minutes.

You know how no matter how many users it says are online, it always says that there's at least one 'guest'?

Yeah, that's me.

Alternatively just sit online on a Wednesday afternoon as that's always when trip sign ups starts.

Don't worry Gwil you aren't supposed to be climbing anyway! (and it's forecast for rain http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/14d ... e=Portland)

What you have to do at the top of a 'sport' shag so that you can be lowered down to the bottom, it isn't your ordinary shag over the top and walk down a descent path, but more like being lowered off at creation. Someone should be able to explain it to you on wednesday at creation, just come and find one of us, and everyone can have a reminder at the start of the days climbing on the saturday as well!

The ropeworks on monday is going to cover what to do when you get to the top of a sport shag. Because sport has bolts (and so doesnt need you to place gear) setting up/getting down is a bit more straight forward - but you still need to know what to do - hence monday night!

If you cant make it's not the end of the world, but it means that the first half an hour in Portland will be spent learning how to get back down rather than climbing...so clearly it's much better to go on Monday because it means you can shag sooner on the trip but dont worry if you really cant make it.

I don't think I've done 'sport climbing' so I shall come to the Monday session at the Munrow sports centre. Just checking you mean this Monday i.e. 6th November? I'll also bring money along for the trip payment.

Umm I'm going to have the same problem as the last trip that I don't finish lab till at least 6pm and I don't want to carry all my bags and food around all day with me. Is there anyone who could look after some of my bags / put it in their car please?

Thanks!

Yup, this monday 6th November is the one. Bringing money for the trip at the same time sounds like an excellent idea

Either way its tomorrow...

Rosie, my Casio also agrees that Monday is the 5th. Which is tomorrow indeed.
