I know i probably have no right to stick my nose in these days, but, i can't help but feel that email which i assume was sent to everyone on the FTR email list was incredibly rude.

I can understand that it must be annoying to temporarily loose a rack, but i am sure there are politer ways of going about requesting its return. If i were to have the rack and receive an email like that i can assure you it would not encourage me to return it, far from it.

And, no, i don't have the green rack, although i guess that is quite obvious as you won't have seen me around for the last year and a half.

On a more positive note - im building a bouldering room in a cellar at present :)

yes I just got it and thought the same, to be fair I can understand the stress that those guys are under.... we all remember Stanage when we were on committee! But also to be fair, it didn't really warrant that amount of rudeness.

i'm completely indifferent to the email.
however, in aid of your investigation i would suggest that the cheif suspect is Starley "colourblind injury prone" tomlinson. We all saw how much he loves trad this weekend.

Would like to second Mikes comments... That was completely unnessersary and really quite rude. Don't think anyone deserves to find it in their inbox and it's hardly got anything to do with those of us who weren't even in the club last year least of all borrowing gear!

You're the one who's lost the list of who you lent it to, could be they don't even read the forum and wasn't aware it needed returning (ok, pretty thoughtless of them, but some people are disorganised and forget things, like losing signing out sheets for gear).

Maybe you should try a politer approach to retrieve gear next time, as Michaf C said, it's hardly likely to convince anyone to return it now!

I think the rudeness was mainly in jest, at least it would mean people would probably read to the end of the e-mail. Lighten up!

For the record I don't have the green rack. Or a red rack. Or any club rack.

Tom your comments seem to have disappeared.... But if the email was sent out to all members of the forum including freshers, then it wasn't very welcoming.

I deleted them, as I may have got a little heated - found it a bit disappointing after an excellent weekend.

But you're right, what a thing to just send to absolutely everybody.

Great first impression of the club I'm sure.

Also, having done the job myself, it is possible to be polite and still get stuff back!

I assume it was just sent to old people, not freshers.

Sorry for complaining, I appreciate how bloody annoying it is when people don't return kit (especially for Stanage!), just think you went the wrong way about bringing it to peoples attention.

Well, i hope it was sent to specific people, not everyone, may i point out that there always used to be and assume are still members of the MAM who visit the site and have user profiles. I doubt they would appreciate receiving an email worded as such.
