Hey guys I mentioned this to a couple of people before we left. For those of us who weren't able to go to Europe (and those of you who did) I was looking to see if there was any interest in spending a week 'down south' climbing around the devon/dorset area at the start of august.

Interest please!! I've got a car and I'm sure plenty of people have racks/ropes/we can pick them up from brum I'll probably be around there anyway.

Cheers!

Preliminary dates:

31st JULY to the 6th AUGUST

Lifts available from BRUM or anywhere between NORWICH and DOSRET! as I'll be driving that way!

You know I'm in! Invested in a dorset rockfax and i also have a car (offering lifts to people in the west country) and bits and pieces of gear.
There is still a few things in the cupboard we might need tho, but wel talk later! :thumright:

Your in luck too, as a new rockfax for the West country has just been released - or is being released this week.

Righty HO! I was thinking if we made it 31st JULY to about the 6th of AUGUST. People can then just pop down for however long they want! That way we can bash out some sport (and maybe some DWS because I fancy it.)

I can still give a lift from Birmingham most probably. And I'll buy me a rockfaqs bookie. It'll be much easier to camp obviously hopefully the weather will have brightened up by then. There's ALWAYS room for old gits the more the merrier!

Hope this helps with any arranging people need to do!!

That new south west rockfax doesn't have as much dorset stuff as the actual dorset rockfax, its more useful for things around where I live. I've got the south west one on order, it looks amazing!

Since I doubt I'll be coming now, if you do decide to go further west you can drop by my house on the way and grab it if you want, saves you buying it. I doubt it though, theres so much to do at portland you'll not need to go anywhere else. Have a great time guys! I'm jealous!

Been reading the dorset rockfax lately (which is brilliant), lots of places to go for sport(portland) and trad (swannage). DWS is a little harder as all the easier stuff is dotted about all over the place, but there are a few good places in portland.
And as long as we're climbing after the 31st we wont be affected by any of the bird bans. But that also means that portland is likely to be very busy!
Any idea on campsites yet josh?
Gear out x

campsites? Not yet I'm off visiting sis then going up north for a week, but I'm sure it wouldn't be tooooo difficult to find! If we go for that weekend the 30th to the...week after that then it would be aright!?
