Shoes: Oversized and comfortable
Kit List

Y'all looking forward for Scotland should get looking for the following:

Boots (need to be B2 or B3 rated)
Warm Socks (Bridgedale Summit ones are decent)
Thermal bottoms (Aldi often has some cracking deals)
Thermal tops
Trousers that you can walk/cl.imb in
Gaiters (optional but keeps the snow out your socks!)
Fleeces (mix of thick and thin+one for your bag as a spare)
Warm hat/balaclava/buff (needs to fit under a helmet)
Gloves (one thick waterproof pair and one thin pair to go underneath) BRING SPARES!
Waterproof jacket and trousers (maybe some old/cheap ones too for while you're getting used to crampons!)
Rucksack for climbing in (35l-50l)
Down/synthetic jacket (optional but warm)
Head torch and spare batteries
Goggles
Compass
Thermos flask
Water bottles
Orange Survival bag
Roll top dry bag(s) (optional but keeps stuff in your bag dry)
Harness, Belay plate/crab and helmet
Personal first aid kit
Normal clothes
Sleeping bag for the hut (it's heated!)
Pyjamas
Teddy bear

Places to look:
Ebay
UKC
Sportpursuit
Go Outdoors (Good prices and 10% price match if you find it somewhere cheaper)
Cotswolds (Ask committee for 20% discount code)
TKMaxx (Just drop in regularly, they often have Craghoppers, Berghaus, and Mammut at a ridiculous price)

Don't be afraid to go secondhand and check around to see if you can borrow stuff.

-If anyone has a group shelter then those would be useful
-Also, if anyone has any kit they'd be happy to lend out please post it up (if you want to borrow stuff then ask here)
If you're not sure on what to get then feel free to ask!

Remember beg, borrow and steal!

But when you come off that face into that itty bitty space
And a chock stones up in your case
You get gear!

Hey folks, I'm planning on coming along, not 100% sorted yet, but I have the following I may be able to lend out for the week. They're my folk's stash of older gear (still usable!) that they don't use anymore. Its a small hassle to get hold of, but if anyone is struggling to find stuff just ask.

Walking axes,
Climbing axes (not technical, but good for 1-3 grades)
Dead men
Crampons (flexible B2 fit)
Rucksacks
and probably misc stuff like big gloves, compasses, maps, head torches, shelter? etc

If anyone needs boots for Scotland and has UK size 8 feet, I've got a pair of Scarpa Omega boots (super warm) to sell - managed to buy 2 pairs last year, eBay fail...

I have pair of winter boots for sale.

They are Salomon SM9s, size 10, a bit too narrow for my feet.

B3 rated. I'll post them to whoever wants them for £50.
