Right, first week of august is obviously the most expensive time of the year. BUT, http://www.coveholidaypark.co.uk/ are offering caravans from £371 a week, which sleep 6 people. This works out at around £62 per person for a week. Which isn't bad. I'm pretty sure if you phoned them and asked to fit more people into it you could bring the cost down. This place is about a 3minute walk from the cuttings, and the boulderfield, two really good crags. Pretty much on the beech.

Unless you can find a campsite around Weymouth I think this is probably the best bet :D

I am still well up for this. And that caravan thing sounds alright, I might look at that and see if there is anything else around too over nxt few days. I can do first week of august too but i have a wedding to go to on the 8th of August and need to be there the night before on the 7th so can prob only do 5 days (if we get there on the 1st). Who else is interested !? Post post post !!

ok i'm loving the portland idea, 1st til 10th sounds good, as do caravans :) ringing them to see if we can squeeze more people in one is a plan :)

i'm not sure where i'll be driving from. i'l be in blackpool for my sisters wedding on the 26th, so whether i go home or what after that i do not know.

yeah, good plans all round guys :)

i rang the caravan company, and the 2 cheaper caravans are booked from the 1st to the 8th, but free the 8th to the 15th, if anyone was up for that?

Otherwise there's camp sites only a few miles away, 5ish miles so only 10min drive, on the mainland, and that would be fine with me :)

what does everone think?

everything sounds good to me. dont mind about the caravans or camping but caravans would be cool as u have like cookin stuff and that surely? think we shud def have someone kinda not in charge but who kinda gets a hold of what people wanna go when and why. i willmore than likely be going from my house in the centre of the country for anyone in that kinda area i wouldnt mind diverting a bit en route... whats the numbers we are lookin at atm?
all those in favour say ai???

I might actually be available to go either of those weeks but only for a few days. I'd contribute some money of course for the days I'm there and wouldn't mind just sleeping on the floor of the caravan. If not I'll just camp somewhere. I also have a full rack so 10QD's. Fingers crossed the weather is like it is now. Climbing morning and late afternoon, sleeping around midday :D

I could easily go from birmingham as i can come up and move some stuff into my house and stuff for a couple of days if there are more people goin from the north than the south. but if people are goin from the south it is just as easy to divert from there. what do people wanna do about where we stay? i honestly dont mind and caravans wud be fine the second week...do people also wanna stay in them the first week or camp coz i dont really mind as we will be drivin to the crag anyways. and we also need an idea of numbers would be great...im up for it and let me know who is and if u know anyone else who is. so the dates are 1st-10th august yea? and people can come and go as they please but i think i would prob wanna do the lot coz i reeeeally wil wanna get away from work lol. man this message is long. apologies
x
