Byron start climbing loads of easy trad climbs. You'll get awesome at placing gear. Then once your fully recovered, you should be dicking all over harder routes. It worked for Dave Macleod, so maybe it could work for you?

By the end of the summer I aim to:

Have done all the VS's & HVS's on my Wishlist [Including The Sloth]
Be able to run 7 miles cross country in under 50 min (My record's 52min so shouldn't be too hard)
Dead hang on open crimps for just over a minute (3 fingers, both hands) ... [May be easy for some, but not myself!]
Boulder font 6b+/6c
Lead indoors comfortably at 6c
Improve technique on slabs

And for the mad one... be ready to try E1's by October!

I'm pretty sure that's not good for you. 8 seconds is all you need. Just make the holds smaller.... You were with Dave Macleod when he told us about training, right? I think he said any longer and it's bad for your elbows or something.

The E1 goal is definitely doable. I thought you'd done E1 anyway?

Not go completely off the rails and decide to end it all from the repeated "sitting in a stinking hot hospital watching the nice weather go by outside" format that my days seem to be taking at the moment.

My aims are all shot now, going from falling of a desired VS to leading my first E1...i think i'm going to just shag hard and try any route that takes my fancy VS, HVS, E1 and maybe E2

I suppose i'd like to become a proper VS or HVS climber...i.e. shag any VS or HVS i try clean

other than that have lots of fun and shag as much as possible :salut:

second one is easy, just takes time, step 1 have low bodyfat - you don't need to worry about that :)

Step 2 : 100 pullups a day, ideally on massive holds, so you don't get an unlucky injury from overdoing it, 10 sets of 10 a day will get you there faaassst, 50 if you've climbed, 30 if you're spanked.

Gogogo!

Why does everyone want to do 1 armed pull ups?!

I will be quite happy going my whole life without ever being able to do it, and still be able to shag at a fairly good standard.

Top tip for getting better at climbing: Go climbing! You could be amazing at 1 armers but if you cant do a rock over you will be screwed at flying buttress Alex!
