Hope everyone has their *Compulsory* fancy dress sorted out! Pop into Harborne Wednesday or Thursday! Failing that, a few cars will be going to charity shops Saturday morning. Has to be done in the name of tradition :viking:

For those of you who are not acquainted with our trip the stunning Yorkshire town of Skipton, be prepared to have an awesome time! On the weekend of the 26th-28th of October, UBMC will be heading up to the land of farmers, crackin' accents even more crackin' crack climbs and classy ladies (Ask MILF-Hunter and LARD-HUNTER)

Oh yes, its the trip where we pull out all the stops. In terms of climbing, you may have the fortune to visit Almscliffe Crag, the Cow and Calf at Ilkley or even Brimham rocks. Saturday night will involve our annual fancy dress (see below) visit to to the club STRATA, the place to go in this dynamic hub that is Skipton. Our accommodation for two nights will be the affectionately named scout hut called "The Dump" - (That's its real name!) which is in close proximity to Strata itself!

Fancy Dress - This year's fancy dress will be charity shop themed. Basically, if you're off with a friend, you need to pair up and buy an outfit (Top and trousers/skirt) for them. There are only 2 conditions:

1) It must be from a charity shop
2) It must be as horrific as possible (As long as they will be able to get into Strata)

If you're off by yourself, I can pair you up at redpoint or you can buy your own terrible outfit!

THE PLAN
Meet at the Munrow at 6pm on Friday the 26th October
Get sorted into cars and arrive at 9-9:30
Tick off all of the classic routes at the crag on Saturday
If you don't have a fancy dress sorted - potential trip to the charity shops on the way back
STRATA!!!
Some more awesome routes ticked off on Sunday

COST
It's going to be £30 for non drivers and £20 for drivers. Please let me know ASAP if you can drive as we need as many as possible. My number is 07935451113. Give me a bell if you have any problems. Signup starts TOMORROW at Redpoint. I will be there from about half 2 onwards as I have teaching till 2.

KIT LIST
WARM AND WATERPROOF LAYERS
SLEEPING BAG
A CAMPING MAT AS WE'RE SLEEPING ON A FLOOR
CLIMBING GEAR
SOMETHING TO WEAR TO STRATA
HEAD TORCH
WASH KIT
FOOD (Will be stopping off to buy food so not essential)

Hope you're all as excited as I am! :D

I was in Skipton last weekend!...first frost of the season too...I can recommend, for good beer, the Wooly Sheep and the Castle Inn, both 5 mins walk from The Dump. Also, I found the M6, M56, M60, M66, M65 route better in terms of traffic and journey time on a Friday night, rather the the more obvious M42, M1 route. Its equally quick in googe even though more complex. Worth considering...Have fun, sorry I cannot join you all.

Hey Hey,

So, me and Nathaniel are thinking of joining you guys climbing during the days if the weather's good and staying at his parents house nearby.
I will be driving up from London on Friday and would be able to give lifts to Skipton from Birmingham, however I won't be driving back to Birmingham...

I figure this will most likely be of no use to you, however if by any chance you need an extra car to help with the load for the way up then gimme a shout and I'd be more than happy to help (plus wouldn't mind company for the drive - I have a big car with a big boot...) :)

I think maltloaf plans to put 4 people in my car so a bit more space would be indeed welcome!

Glad to hear you guys are coming :D

Hey Louise!

Glad to hear you'll be coming to Skipton :)

I think we are actually fine for drivers now as Tom and Rosie are coming so we have 8 cars. Thanks so much for the offer!

Sad to say we won't be joining you climbing. Long story short, Nathaniel may have had a little ankle accident. But, we may join you for the classiness that is Strata... Will text someone if we do. If not, have a lovely weekend and hope the weather holds out for you! xx

There was a dark green/blue waterproof/anorak thing left in the backseat of my car. I'll bring it to Redpoint on Wednesday, I'm not sure whose it is.
