Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd like to make you aware of a fine talent traveling all the way from Fort William to give us a few hours of his time. Dave Macleod is one of the best climbers in the country and probably the world. For those who don't know much about Dave, then add the following DVD's to your list of things to buy and watch:

    -E11
    -Committed Vol.II
    -Echo Wall
    -To Hell and Back

Short Biography
"Dave MacLeod is a Scottish rock climber and one of the foremost climbers in the UK, and one of the most accomplished all-round climbers in the world today. In April 2006 he established the shag Rhapsody on Dumbarton Rock which, at a grade of E11 7a, is possibly the hardest traditional climbing route in the world and looks set to be confirmed as the most difficult in the UK".

Now guys, if this isn't exciting enough then there will also be a chance to win a free 3hour coaching session with Dave at the next competition. Details about the competition are available http://www.ubmc.co.uk/ftr/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1229.

Guys, this lecture is going to be incredible and will be priced at an amazing price of just £10 a ticket. The lecture will be taking place in the first few weeks of the Summer term, after we return from Easter holidays. It's going to be too good to miss. If you're interested please reply on this thread. If you want anymore information please come and chat to me at Creation.

GUYS LINK TO THE ENTIRE 'TO HELL AND BACK' FILM:

It's a bit small but you get an idea of how much of an idol this guy is :D

Watch that trailer guys, Dave Macleod is an absolute hero.

This is a very unique oppurtunity guys and gals, a chance to hear one of Dave's lectures will not pass your way again during your remaining time in the club. He hasn't spoken in the Midlands in a long time and the fact that the lecture is directed first and foremost to the University club is something quite special.

The current plan is to have the talk delivered in one of the theatres on campus either on the first or second Wednesday following the Easter holidays. Tickets will be on sale before we break up for Easter, so keep your eyes peeled on here. First refusal will be granted to club members and any remaining tickets will be sold to the Birmingham climbing public.

This event will prove inspirational to anyone with even a fleeting interest in climbing. Moreover, it provides a unique oppurtunity to raise the club's profile within the Midlands climbing community. This will be one hell of an evening, you'd be mad to miss it.

Count me in x50!! I'm well up for this, he's one of the best climbers in the country without a doubt, and arguably the best mixed climber around being amazing at ice climbing/trad/sport/bouldering, and has the hardest graded climbs in the world in both trad and ice climbing I think.

Here's the echo wall trailer if anyone's interested

I can't wait

(If anyone wants to borrow E11 I've got a copy also)

Yep im there,

By the way Gareth, Dave came to Creation in my first year and gave a lecture (that was apperently free!). The guys at creation then took him to snobs and got him v.drunk!

It was an amazing lecture (i even mentioned it in my climbing logbook!) with him starting sentences with, "then i just climbed the hardest ice route" etc etc. as though it was on a par with, "then i just walked down to the shops".

What an inspiration!
