By sheer fluke rather than anything else this lil excursion seems to tie-in nicely with a spring tide at Portland. What does this mean you say? Well, in a nutshell, a lot of the DWS lines on the Isle which would most likely have been unclimbable are now fair game. The catch being that we'll have to be up and on the rock before 8am to make the most of the water. I reckon then if the weather is decent we could spend the 1st two days at Swanage and then move over to Portland for the 2nd two days. Lulworth is in the middle and can be reached easy enough from either spot. That should keep the DWSers and the Sport climbers happy.

Cool?

Connor Cove first though, cus it's too damn good to miss.

Cool? Coolest thing in the world ever!

I am so horrifically excited about this I think I'm weakening my bladder!

There's a route called footless traverse or something like that which I think should be added to the list of manly things to try.

I hear on the grape vine that many really really cool people will be playing around at the creation comp before heading down that night for some 1 in the morning setting up of tents :)

yea byron the route isnt called footless traverse it just is a footless traverse along the same sort of line as a shag called temporary lifestlye in cave hole and it is amazing fun but its never been repeated.

Spring tides are a bit of a misnomer.

Its to do with the moon and shit, but because the moon's gravitational pull is adding a positive effect to the movement of the tides, the hight tides are higher than normal, and the low tides ware lower than normal (e.g. DWS at high tide = safe, DWS at low tide = you're fucked).

Its actually got nothing to do with what season it is.

The opposite is a neap tide, where the moon acts to counter the tidal movements and you get a much smaller variation in depth between high and low tide (DWS at any time = possible broken ankles).

Excccciiiiittttttttteeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddd!!!!

Creation climbing comp tonight, do itttt, james, ste, ben danny and I shall be warming up for dorset by clearing up the prizes there, except I'm not allowed to compete, and still a bit injured, so I wont be, fun all round and much squeeling like little girls in anticipation of epic journeying and tent setting up in the dark, followed by climby climby tomorrow is sure to be on the books though.

Looking for james to repeat his prize winning form from last time, if not he's a poo indoor sec!

:D:D:D

Is everyone else arriving tomorrow?
