Ok, so time for a re-cap of 2013's aims I think :D

Do more routes than 2012 (476) Only did 251 this year (52.7%)
Do 30 E1s, 10 E2s, 5 E3s Only 3 E1s, 3 E2s, 1 E3 (Not really in the trad game this year)
Get Barney Rubble in Devon Yes!! Did this in the Summer along with another 7a+!
Boulder 10 7As, 5 7A+s, 1 7B Only 4 7As, 2 7A+ and no 7B :(
Do something sick this Summer (Internship or Roadtrip or Alps) Yes!! Did an internship and went to Thailand, sport and DWS!
Do a one-armer I can do 50% of one on a good day...

To revisit my aims:

Awesome! Long live the aims threads!

I want to do more:
Sport routes than in 2007 (7) -did none
Alpine routes than in 2007 (7) -did none
Trad routes than in 2012 (55) -did 39, just needed one more push that didn't materialise
Winter routes than in 2010 (13) -did 9, close-ish so not too bad
Boulder problems than in 2012 (445) -did 513, bouldering is so convenient (and fun)

Catch up with Laurence on the number of routes done (repeats don't count) at the start of the year he was 367 ahead, Scotland and a quick bouldering session have got that down to 344. -This was never going to happen, I'm on 1559, he's up to 2036!

Font 7C is still an aim - got close on one and did a couple of 7b+'s
Font 7 on a roof - didn't end up really trying one but got much better on roofs indoors
a 5 second front lever - made no serious attempt at this
No more pulley injuries and continue exercises to solve and prevent shoulder injury (at least 3 times a week). - did fairly well at this, got no real climbing injuries, just running related ones!

I will probably add to this as the year progresses. Best of luck everyone!

Not a bad year climbing wise, with a decent amount of bouldering and doing the cullin ridge, however I got tricked into getting into running by my sister so my climbing took a hit for the second half of the year. I didn't do any climbing outdoors in December, which is the first month that's happened in since April 2006, this is mainly because we got our van and were converting it and then ended up skiing most of the time in Scotland, I'm not to sad about it because the distractions have been fun!

This year I would like to...:
~Break my no UK sport climbing rule and visit the Diamond (Will not be till September though!) and possibly Anstey's. Great year at Anstey's. Climbed The Cider Soak which is an amazing route and flashed Empire of the Sun. Both of which are mega classics and I hope more people get to go down there and experience them.
~Another day of trad would be good if it was some Peak Grit or Pembroke Lime. Didn't get on any Grit trad. I did manage a couple of trips to Pembroke. Ticked off some mega classics E3's and 4's and even managed a couple of E5's. Finally got Bloody Sunday which was literally the best fun I've ever had on a trad route. Please if you are climbing E3, just give it a go. It's got jugs and gear all the way up barring the crux. Amazing.
~Boulder in Font - just need to book the gite and ferry! I ended up going twice. You can never get enough Font. Can't wait to go back. An unbelievably quick and cheap holiday.
~Decide whether to Boulder in SA or Sport in Thailand... Decisions. Didn't got to either. Got roped into a couples holiday to the Dalmation Coastline instead. Let's face it, holidays are shit unless there is some kind of climbing or skiing involved.
~Go back to Rodellar (Oct half term or xmas holidays)x I went to Benidorm instead. Flashed a couple of 7b+'s. Great climbing and recommend it to anyone climbing 7a-8a. Forada is one of the best sport crags I've been too. v

Grades: Oh, how we love them
~Couple of classic 7c's in Font - Managed to tick Vandale in October. One of the best boulders I've done in the forest. Not only because it was hard, but because it didn't really seem to have much polish on it. At all. And it also had a massive jug in the middle of the route. That's always a winner.
~Break the F8a duck? Is this too much to ask? As I've listed previously I managed to tick off a few this year. Unfortunately I popped something in my arse trying the roof warrior on a flying visit after work in June so I had to take a break from hard climbing over the summer. Hence doing some trad instead. Will I get on some more this year? Hopefully. I'm not too inspired by anything in the UK at the moment though.

    Non-climbing
~Move to London. Not going to do this. Silly idea.
~Run sub 18 5K. This rolls into the new year.
      ~Run sub 37 10K. Likewise

Managed to tick off some big nemesis climbs this year. Left Wall High Parisella's had seen me failing year on year since I first attempted it. Elite Syncopations finally gave way, only after falling off while clipping the chains from a glory drug. It's been a good year for me in climbing. Maybe one of my best in terms of ticking new grades. I'll try and keep it up in 2014 but I've got other interests like Tom (running) to occupy my time.
