Hey,

Probably due to reading the thread on hiking to Everest Base Camp, but I started looking into possible holidays [climbing related of course!] for the summer of 2010. With the plan of setting aside 2/3 weeks, either at the start or most probably at the end of the summer holidays. I've thought of a few ideas:

-Ice climbing in Norway [conditions seem better in June/July]
-Back to the French Alps [but not Chamonix again]
-Some kind of climbing 'eurotrip' dunno where though
-Actually going to do a big trip to Everest base camp but with more climbing involved! [Rather ambitious :| ]
-El Chorro [heard good reviews of the place]

Does anybody else have some better ideas? This is all assuming that:
a) I have the free time b) I can afford it & c) I can find somebody to go with me.

El chorro may be a little toasty in the middle of summer.

Instead of Austrailia, try New Zeland! Both places have climbing.
But the Kiwis have more extreme sports :D :D

Don't know why you guys are going so far to ice shag, there are perfectly good chalk cliffs on the south coast which have been done with crampons and ice axes!!!!

I want to go to peru sooo many big mountains there!

Would not recommend El Chorro (or anywhere South Europe) for summer climbing, it will be too hot. I was in El Chorro in October this year and it was 30 - 40 deg C. Great place for Easter / Christmas trip though, before it warms up too much.

I haven't been but was under the impression ice climbing in Norway would be a winter trip...?

What about the Yosemities? Then Alek can finally sell those Anasazi South Wests that hes been trying to get rid for the last 2 years.

If you go there in summer though it's rock climbing but you can shag at midnight in the sun, that would be really cool!
