OK, all those who have paid a deposit are on the trip (list below)! The rest of the money should be paid on or before Wednesday 15th at 8pm (Cheques are much appreciated!)

Unfortunately the course is full now... But there are a couple of spaces for people who don't need to do the course - i.e. with previous experience of winter mountaineering. Get in touch if you're interested!

There will be a meeting (preliminarily) on Wednesday 8th in the Guild to discuss equipment, times & logistics etc... Please let me know in advance if you can't make it :thumleft:

Here's the Kit List: so you can start looking around for gear :D
My advice is to try and 'beg, borrow and steel' as much as possible! I'm sure there are members in the club who are willing to lend stuff if you ask nicely and, from time to time, there are some reet good bargains on UKC!

A Rucksack (suitable for climbing, between 35l and 50l)
Suitable Boots (ask if you’re not sure)
Waterproof jacket
Waterproof trousers

A pair of Gaiters (optional)
Gloves (As many pairs as you can find)
A warm hat or Balaclava (that fits under your helmet)
Trousers to shag in
Fleeces
Base layers - a few Thermal tops and a pair of Thermal bottoms or tights
Thick Socks
A Down jacket (optional)
A Head torch
Compass (optional)
A Water Bottle (1L)
Sun glasses and/or Goggles
An Orange Survival Bag
Clothes to wear when not climbing
A sleeping bag to use in the hut (there is heating in the hut so about 2 seasons will be sufficient)
Belay plate & prussic(s)
Harness & Helmet (Can be borrowed from club, let me know before the end of term!)

Bring these along if you have them:
crampons & ice axes
if you want to bring your own rack / rope then let me or gear secs know.
TRICAMS!!!

    > Important items are in red!
    > Layers work well and it's easy to adjust temperature.
    > Try to avoid cotton as it gets cold when wet. Wool is good :)

I can only make the talk if it's late in the evening... Like 8 or 9. Also slightly dissapointed at the lack of comedy name :(

OH ... I also have a spare harness [Most definitely more comfy than the club ones!] if anybody wants to borrow it. Let me know!

*I've fallen in it about 3-4 times, nothing major. It's still in good nick. Has been used on the previous two scotland trips I've been on without a hitch. - Thought people should know as a matter of courtesy*

I'm not so bothered by it anymore tbh laurence, I understand that some people have neurological variants which makes it difficult for them to remember names correctly! Also it's not a very Scotland related comedy name!

Love neils tho!

After this weekend I could be Rosie ' I've just hit myself in the head with my ice axe' Henstock, however I think it's lacking in something...
