Whether you're crushing hard or hardly crushing, the team trials is an event for you!

The amazing Birmingham Bouldering Centre are hosting our team trials again this year, and with 20 problems of varying difficulty set by their staff of brilliant route setters, there will be plenty of climbs to challenge and excite you!

The team this year will consist of 9 members, 6 males and 3 females as we have a rough 2:1 male-female ratio in the club, so both genders are represented as equally as we can! The team will be entering 3 teams into MUBS (Midlands University Bouldering Series) and 3 teams into BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) as well as some individual competitions - the entrances are free to team members and include transport! Additionally, members of the team will receive a 6 month pass to Birmingham Bouldering Centre! There will also be specific coaching available to all members of the team! If all that wasn't enough, there will also be some bespoke climbing kit from our clothes sponsor.

Having said all of that, the competition is set for all members, not just those looking to join the team, so come along even if you don't want to join the team - it's not mandatory!

So now, to the important things:

When: 20th of October at 7:00pm - meet outside the Guild at 6:30pm for taxis to BBC!

Where: Well! Birmingham Bouldering Centre of course!

How much dollah: The amazing Ste has offered us 90% discount on lifetime membership! And extended the student discount to Mondays! So that's £4.50 if you're a member and just an additional 50p to become a lifetime member if you're not - it's usually £5 to become a member! Definitely worth coming just for that, as BBC is a great centre that UBMC frequent!

Hey guys, just want to say thanks for coming. It looked like people had loads of fun! That being said, I'm interested in feedback, both for how you felt the comp went in general and specifically the scoring system!

Please e-mail any feedback to [email protected]
